BURBANK, CA — U.S. Congresswoman Laura Friedman (CA-30) convened the first roundtable with her Transportation, Mobility, and Accessibility Advisory Committee, which is comprised of leaders of local transportation agencies, city planners, and accessibility advocates.
“When I first got to Congress, I wanted to be on the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee because I believe in building transit that’s reliable, affordable, and safe. Convening this committee helps me make sure we’re putting those investments where they’ll make the most positive impact,” said Representative Laura Friedman (CA-30). “I’m proud to be able to share the wins and investments I’ve been able to secure for my district so far, but I’m not done fighting for truly accessible transit.”
Together, they discussed a range of issues including President Trump’s cuts to critical transportation improvements, reduced funding for neighborhood connectivity programs, and building safer streets for bikers and pedestrians. Friedman also discussed her requests for investments to support transit infrastructure for the upcoming 2028 Olympic and Paralympics Games, as well as her push for more climate resilient infrastructure.
