Glendale News-Press: Friedman Meets With Hollywood Chamber of Commerce Members

U.S. Rep. Laura Friedman met with members of the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce on Tuesday, June 17, to discuss top-of-mind-issues concerning local business owners. Topics included Friedman’s work on a national film tax credit, the recent protests, efforts to make housing more affordable, combating homelessness, and how tourism will be impacted by the Trump administration’s immigration policies.
“For us, Hollywood isn’t just an international recognized name, it’s the powerhouse behind our local economy that supports thousands of jobs,” said Friedman, who represents California's 30th district. “From fighting for a national film tax credit to making housing more affordable, I’m committed to making sure Hollywood continues to thrive. I’m grateful to the chamber and community leaders for such a thoughtful, solutions-focused conversation.”
Friedman met with members of the chamber and the Hollywood Partnership in January this year soon after she was sworn into Congress. Friedman was joined Tuesday by BARDAS Investment Group, Discover Hollywood Magazine, DLA Piper LLP, Emerson College Los Angeles, Funko, LLC, Hollywood 4WRD, Hollywood Burbank Airport, John L. Gile & Associates, Kaiser Permanente, Kilroy Realty Corporation, MP Los Angeles, Ovation Hollywood, Pantages Theatre-Nederlander West Coast, Sheppard, Mullin, Richter & Hampton LLP, The Hollywood Partnership, the Original Farmers Market and Amoeba Music.
