ICYMI: Rep. Friedman Statement on Trump’s Firing of DHS Secretary Kristi Noem

March 5, 2026

WASHINGTON D.C. —  Today, March 5, 2026, U.S. Representative Laura Friedman (CA-30) released a statement on President Trump’s decision to fire DHS Secretary Kristi Noem:

The original statement is available here and below.

“I called for Kristi Noem's removal. I voted against funding her lawless operations, and supported her impeachment. Today she's out. But the damage she did to Americans — including labeling victims "domestic terrorists" after being killed by her agents — won’t be erased,” said Congresswoman Friedman (CA-30). “I'll keep fighting to pass the No Masks for ICE Act, end legal immunity for ICE agents, require warrants for arrests and searches, and bring an end to this agency’s chaos, cruelty and violence.”

Friedman has been critical of Secretary Noem’s oversight of DHS, ICE, and FEMA. In January of this year, became one of the earliest Democratic members of the House to demand Secretary Noem’s impeachment, mounting a large campaign to do so in the wake of the Minneapolis shootings that killed Alex Pretti and Renee Nicole Good.
