RELEASE: Congresswoman Friedman Addresses, Joins Protest at March for Our Constitution

Condemns Trump’s assault on critical services and democracy
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA — Today, March 22, 2025, U.S. Representative Laura Friedman (CA-30) delivered a speech to hundreds of community members gathered at the March for Our Constitution Protest, which took place in front of the Wilshire Federal Building in Westwood.
“The message we’re sending today is loud and clear: Americans won’t sit back while Trump upends our Social Security, access to affordable healthcare, and makes our lives more expensive,” said U.S. Representative Friedman “We’ve seen what happens when good people stay silent. We’re done being quiet.”
The Wilshire Federal Building houses many federal field offices for the Los Angeles area, including Veterans Affairs and the U.S. Passport Agency. Trump and Elon’s attempt to downsize the federal government has spelled disaster for countless Americans that have both worked in and depended on the services provided.
Recently, the Trump administration has:
- Made it harder – if not impossible for some – to access Social Security benefits.
- Shut down Social Security field offices across the country.
- Given DOGE access to sensitive government databases without proper oversight including bank accounts.
- Moved to fire more than 80,000 workers from Veterans Affairs alone.
Accidently fired workers responsible for maintaining our nuclear arsenal.
