GLENDALE, CA — U.S. Congresswoman Laura Friedman (CA-30) toured the construction site of the Armenian American Museum and Cultural Center of California in Glendale.
“I have been a longtime advocate of the Armenian American Museum going back to my days as Mayor of Glendale as an Assemblymember, and I’m excited to see years of work and advocacy take shape on this site,” said U.S. Congresswoman Laura Friedman (CA-30). “I’ll never stop fighting to make sure that Armenian American history is remembered and memorialized – because the cost of forgetting it is far too great.”
As the former Mayor of Glendale, Friedman supported the museum project and helped lay the groundwork for the project’s approval and early progress. As a Member of the Assembly, she successfully helped push to include funding for the project in the state budget.
The Armenian American Museum and Cultural Center of California will be the first museum of its kind in the United States dedicated to educating the public about the Armenian American experience. The museum is set to offer permanent and rotating exhibitions, a performing arts theatre, and a learning centers along with many other amenities.
