BURBANK, CALIFORNIA — U.S. Representative Laura Friedman (CA-30) toured Fresenius Medical Care’s dialysis clinic in Burbank, California, where she met with patients, nurses, and staff. Fresenius Medical Care, also known as Fresenius Kidney Care, is a provider of in-center and at-home dialysis treatment with more than 2,300 locations nationwide that serve more than 190,000 patients.

“Dialysis is a lifeline for so many Americans in my district and across the country who suffer from chronic and late-stage kidney disease — and it is a lifeline that needs protecting.” said Representative Laura Friedman (CA-30). “In Congress, I am fighting to protect Medi-Cal and preserve Covered California so that all Angelenos can get affordable healthcare whether they’re just going for a check-up or receiving dialysis.”

California’s 30th Congressional District boasts one of the highest number of hospitals in the Los Angeles County region, as well as countless clinics. Friedman has been a steadfast advocate for all of them, frequently standing shoulder to shoulder with their patients, doctors, nurses, and healthcare administrators to raise awareness on issues like the expiration of ACA tax relief. Friedman has also raised awareness about the Trump administration’s disastrous policies affecting the healthcare profession and educational access as a whole, most notably in her rally with nurses earlier this December.
