LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA — U.S. Representative Laura Friedman (CA-30) toured the iconic Television City and met with its owners to learn about their approved plans to bring new stages, increase production capacity, create thousands of jobs, and revitalize the entertainment industry in Los Angeles.
“I started out in Los Angeles as a film producer, and I know so many other people have come to Los Angeles with the dream of supporting their families by working in the film and television industry. I still believe that dream is obtainable, and I’m committed to making sure that it stays true for all,” said Representative Laura Friedman (CA-30). “Directors, actors, producers and everyone that works in the film industry want to stay in Los Angeles, and I want to work with them and our hardworking families and union members towards that shared goal.”
During her tour, Representative Friedman walked through the iconic facility, including sound stages that have hosted long-running television shows for decades, design shops, and editing rooms.
Modernizing production stages like those at Television City is critically important as runaway production pulls projects and jobs away from Los Angeles. Representative Friedman discussed her leadership on this issue, including her most recent letter to the MPA, calling on them to recommit to Los Angeles and return production to L.A.
