WASHINGTON, DC — Today, Friday, January 3, 2025, U.S. Representative Laura Friedman
(CA-30) was sworn into the 119th Congress for her first term in the House. Friedman was joined
by family and friends to mark the occasion, including her husband, daughter, sister, and parents.
“It’s an honor of my lifetime to be sworn in to represent so many California families in the 119th
Congress. Know that I’ll never stop fighting efforts to undermine our values, and that I’ll work to
build bridges with anyone interested in delivering real results for our families,” said U.S.
Representative Laura Friedman (CA-30). “I’m determined to bring down the cost of housing,
ensure everybody in America can access high-quality medical care, and provide students with a
good public education."
In her first term, Friedman will stand up to extremists looking to undermine our shared values
while working across the aisle to find common ground. Friedman will champion affordable
housing, defend reproductive rights, support California’s film industry, fight climate change, and
advocate for investments in our nation's infrastructure.
Friedman represents Glendale, Burbank, West Hollywood, and parts of the City of Los Angeles
and Pasadena.
