It was great to see so many of you at the Hometown Country Fair and to have commemorated our 75th anniversary in partnership with the CV Chamber of Commerce with our local Mary Dyer band filling the air with some great classics. I shared that the partnership between Water and the Chamber makes a lot of sense. After all, water is the silent foundation supporting every home, business and life in the Crescenta Valley that we are here to serve.
On April 19, LACMA officially opened the David Geffen Galleries, marking this transformative moment for the museum and all of Los Angeles with a celebratory ribbon-cutting ceremony.
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA — U.S. Representative Laura Friedman (CA-30) hosted her 2nd annual Congressional Art Competition showcase. The showcase was held in the Art Salon at the historic Ebell of Los Angeles. Student artists, community members, and art competition judges were able to view over 30 submissions from 14 schools across the district.

Congresswoman Laura Friedman has announced new bipartisan legislation that would aid law enforcement agencies in accessing federal funding for state-of-the-art technology to help prevent and de-escalate high-speed car chases.
The Next Gen Road Safety Act (H.R. 8217) would amend the Omnibus Crime Control and Safe Streets Act of 1968 to allow federal COPS (Community Oriented Policing Services) grants to be used for the purchase of drones, vehicle-disabling systems and other technology to assist police during active pursuits.
As preparations continue for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic Games, a $1.09 million federal investment will be used to replace aging water and wastewater systems at the Rose Bowl Stadium.

A California legislator proposed a bill that would allow police departments statewide to buy new technology she believes would make police chases less dangerous.
For years, the San Pablo Police Department has been utilizing darts equipped with GPS devices to track down suspects without speeding after them. This is the type of technology Congresswoman Laura Friedman hopes to help other departments obtain.
“The idea is to be able to use technology that’s less likely to result in someone fleeing recklessly at a really high rate of speed,” she said.
